Words Have Power, Yall!

Remember this phrase?

“sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”

It’s Wrong.

Your words have SO much power.

On this day 5 years ago, I was wishing for a patio at my office. I would walk back to work from lunch and be so sad to have to go inside on a beautiful day.

I said to my coworkers often “Can we get a patio!?”

I wanted to work and have something meaningful to do with my time, but I didn’t want to stay inside on a beautiful day.  That seemed like a reasonable request.

Fast forward 5 years and I’m literally recording a video and typing this post from OUTSIDE next to a pool.

WHAT!?

I believe this happened because I thought about it, talked about it, and took action to make it happen.

If I had said “I’m going to be stuck inside forever. This sucks.”, would I be sitting here today?

Maybe.

Maybe Not.

Let’s not take that chance.

Pro Tip: Watch your words! Make sure you are speaking things that you WANT in your life.

When you use your WORDS, your brain and subconscious mind are listening.

For more science check out What to Say When you Talk To Yourself, or just try it. I bet your life experience will confirm this concept.

What can you do right now?

Pay attention to what you say especially regarding a topic that you want to be different than it currently is.

When you hear yourself say something that isn’t in line with what you want, STOP and replace it with something else.

You can literally say “Excuse me. That isn’t true.” and replace what you said with a new sentence.

As you practice, your brain will become more convinced – it will believe you’re serious – and you’ll start to see things around you differently.

You’ll notice something you didn’t see before or you’ll meet someone who can help you toward your goal.

It all starts with your brain being AWARE that this is what you really want!

It’s in your WORDS!

Try it.
