How a Workout Changed My Life
I like to say that INSANITY changed my life.
I don’t have a huge weight loss story, but I do attribute a huge change in my life to finding INSANITY.
Four years ago, I was in the grind of “life after college.” I was uninspired, unmotivated and unfit. I felt confident that there was more to life than my current situation, but I didn’t know how to figure that out. I was experiencing the pain of living with jobs, relationships, and hobbies that were just good enough. Just good enough to keep me from taking a new action. Just good enough to keep me stuck.
If we’ve just met, then you have no idea that girl even existed. Today, I am doing what I love, and of course, there’s a story about how I got there.
It all started one night in the spring of 2011.
I attended a Fit Club in my apartment building. People were gathering to do a workout DVD together. The workout: INSANITY. I’ve seen the infomercials. There’s NO WAY Lauren, who doesn’t workout or like to sweat, is doing INSANITY. Never one to pass up a social event, I decided to go. Luckily, we all survived that night! The workout was intense. I did things I never thought I could do. I was in pain. I was tired. I wanted more.
I had found my soul-mate workout.
After a few weeks of attending the group DVD workout, I learned that I could do a 60-day challenge at home. INSANITY for 60 days – plus a free “I earned it” t-shirt. I’ve never done anything like this. I was so excited about it. I told everyone I knew and encouraged them to try it with me. My attitude was changing. I had something to focus on a get excited about. What I didn’t expect was the effect it would have on my relationships. Old friends started reaching out to me to ask for help getting started with fitness. I would tell them my experience and encourage them to find their soul-mate workout. The messages kept coming, and I was spending a lot of time talking with people about what holds them back and how they can make a change.
I was discovering my true passion.
During the summer of 2011, I completed the 60 day challenge. Some of the workouts were late night or early morning, but they had to be done. I had to check the box for that day’s workout. No exceptions. I gained so much more than cardio strength and six pack abs during those 60 days. I gained confidence that there was more to life than where I was. I gained determination to stay on this new path and see where it would lead me.
Today, I am doing what I love.
I’m actually teaching INSANITY multiple times a week. No DVDs – it’s a live workout. I’m helping people get fit and reach their health and fitness goals. I’m helping people see that they do have control over where this life goes and they can have what they want.
If you’re ready to get motivated and inspired, then I’d love to be there with you. Let me help you find your soul-mate workout and live the life you truly desire.
