“I’ll do it later!” Self Talk – Real Talk Part 2

Do you ever say “I’ll do it later!” when it comes to doing things that will take you closer to your goals?

I know I do {shocking, I’m a real human. lol}

Whether it’s an exercise goal, nutrition plan goal, side hustle goal, or relationship goal – it seems to me that it’s part of the human condition to procrastinate and avoid important tasks.

After my post about “not feeling like it” I asked what else the voices say to people.  “I’ll do it later” was the most popular!

“Time comes to those who make it, not those who try to find it.” – Jen Sincero

In this video, I ramble a bit about how that phrase and this quote make sense to me:

Basically, we’re avoiding.

We avoid because we’re scared, bored or uncertain for example. Sometimes we never actually get to the task we’re avoiding, so what if we just delete it from our life?

If you choose not to do something, then that’s powerful. You chose that! You could choose to ask someone else to do it for you, or decide that it’s not worth your time or aligned with your goals.

When you just push it off and avoid it then you’re basically lying to yourself. You’re not keeping your word to yourself.

That’s not a muscle that I want to strengthen!!

I want to strengthen the muscle of I do what I say I’m going to do.

Take Action : Schedule dedicated time once a week to set your priorities and intentions for the next week.  Then you can choose what is worth your focus!

You’ll know you’re onto something when you feel peace and freedom around the actions you’re taking and the plans that are on your calendar.

Choose your words carefully and know that we all have the same amount of time to spend in the day!  I’d love to support you in your journey.   >> Send me a note! <<
