Motivation to start living healthier : Relieve stress, have fun, meet people, overcome challenges and do things I’ve never done before.
What’s been easy along the way? : Meeting new people and making awesome friends along the way.
What’s been the most difficult? : Being disciplined with my training, specially when I set myself high goals like a big race. It is very difficult to fight laziness, and declining invitations from friends to go out and choosing to workout instead.
What are you most proud of? : I’m very proud of my achievements from last year, after being out for almost six months with a broken ankle. I ran my first Ragnar Relay race, PRd on the St Jude Marathon, and I completed a Spartan trifecta (ran the three distance races in less than four months).
How do you celebrate milestones? : Beer, good food and friends.
Favorite way to get fit : Running
First word that comes to mind when I say Burpees : INSANITY {so many burpees!}
Go to healthy meal : Tuna salad
Favorite food you didn’t like before : Quinoa
Favorite “fun” food : Tacos!
What makes you smile? : Having a good workout, enjoying a good meal with friends, achieving my goals, and dreaming about new challenges.
Being healthy is a journey – What’s next? : I’m looking forward on running the NY marathon this year, as also completing some other obstacles races.
Where can we bump into you? : Downtown as I live and work there, and that’s where I do my runs.
