Behind the Scenes at Tony Robbins Date with Destiny Part 4

Are your “rules” keeping you from being happy?

Randomly, I was asked to do a very important job called – watch the doors and don’t let anyone in. Lol

While I was chilling by the doors, my roomie walked by, so I asked her a few questions.

I am so grateful for getting to meet Daron and be her roomie during this event.

We had plenty of chats about life and love, and enjoyed being accountability partners for each other during the event.

One thing everyone is talking about at the end of an event is Breakthroughs.

Everyone wants to have a breakthrough or three or four. That’s why they attend!

The night before, Tony went around the around and asked, “Who has not had any breakthroughs? Who has not had any insights that help your life? Who is breakthrough-less?”

Like 10 people out of 5,000 stood up and said that they had not had any breakthroughs. So we got to talk to one of those people, and we learned something really fascinating.

What we learned is that this gentleman had a lot of rules around what is a breakthrough.

For him to have a breakthrough, he had to feel a certain way, and he had to have a certain thing happen. He had to have like 10 things happen in order for him to have a breakthrough.

Tony’s like, “that’s why you haven’t had one.”

Hello, you have all these rules for what it’s going to take to make that happen.

Per usual – it made me think, “Where do we do this in our life? What do we deny ourselves because we have so many rules about it?”

So think about that.

If you want to have a good friendship, and you’re like, I don’t have any good friends. What are your rules about friends?

Do you have a rule where if you’re a friend, you would call me every day? You would always invite me to everything you do? Or you would send me flowers, because I’m an amazing friend?

What rules do you have about friendship? Because possibly you already have it, you just aren’t accepting it because you have a lot of rules about it that might be unnecessary.

Daron shared her rules for friendship :

Surround yourself with people who are loving and supporting, but that is not enough. You gotta have people who are gonna push you and grow you. Like your plant.

Water it. Water daily.
Put in sunshine.
Because if we don’t grow…
We die.

Think about it. Then ACT.

YOU have the power to update your rules anytime.

I’d love to know if this conversation sparked a breakthrough! Send me a note!
