Here’s my fitness story:

Being clean and sweat-free has always been a top priority of mine.  I never liked to play in the dirt or play sports.  Baton twirling was as athletic as I got!

During college at Mississippi State University, I had access to an amazing fitness center.  I started going to group fitness classes like Extreme Abs and Power Yoga.  I liked the group atmosphere, but I didn’t have the “bug” yet.  Like most people, I thought exercise was important, but I didn’t know what I should be doing since I wasn’t overweight or working toward a specific goal.

After college,  I started exercising on the elliptical a few times a week.  –BORING–Running wasn’t an option because I had ZERO cardio strength. I was at a loss for an exercise plan that I could enjoy.

And then there was Fit Club.

In 2011, I met INSANITY, a crazy hard cardio workout, at a Fit Club with a group of people living in my apartment building. At first glance, there was NO WAY I was going to survive this workout.  A strange thing happened that day – I thought INSANITY was awesome! I couldn’t wait to go each week and try it again. After a few months, I decided to do the 60-Day INSANITY Challenge in July 2011.

After I completed INSANITY, I ran my first 5k in Downtown Memphis. The race environment was so fun and exciting and guess what–I could actually run the whole race because I gained so much cardio strength during INSANITY.

Now, I’ve got the fitness BUG!!

I decided to become an  affiliate of Team Beachbody and share my love of INSANITY with others.  Since then, I’ve tried several other Beachbody workouts like ChaLEAN Extreme, P90x, PiYo, Body Beast, and 21 Day Fix and like them all for different reasons.  Being a part of the Beachbody community ignited my passion for fitness and healthy eating. It’s amazing that it all started with one visit to Fit Club just because I didn’t have anything else to do that night!

The passion grew.

As I shared my experience about INSANITY, people started to reach out to me about health and fitness. They saw me as someone who had never had an interest in fitness and wanted to know how I changed. I was loving getting to know people on a deeper level. I was helping them figure out why they wanted to change and how to actually obtain a new lifestyle.  After a lot of research and soul searching, I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer.  For over a year, I studied and saw clients early in the morning and late at night while I went to my day job every day.  It was hard, but I desperately wanted to do work that I loved. I was good at my day job, but it didn’t fulfill me like coaching.

Today – Personal Training and Coaching is my career.

In 2014, I left my day job to focus all of my energy on helping people change their lives. Along with personal training, I’m teaching INSANITY to groups small and large and helping other people find their fitness bug.  I’m helping people get take control of their lives, get healthy, get in shape, and get the results they desire.

I’m so thankful to get to do work that I love.
